Guidelines 

  1. Nominations will name the individual(s) being nominated, together with the reason for the nomination, and will include the name and address of the person nominating.
  2. The closing date for nominations will be the 31st of August.
  3. The Award will be presented to the individual receiving the most written nominations from the community, recognising their contribution to the Parish.
  4. The Award can be presented to two or more individuals if they have collaborated on the contribution to the Parish and receive the most nominations.
  5. The Award will not be presented where the nomination is for something which has resulted in profit and/or personal gain for the nominee(s).
  6. The Parish Council will determine the winner at the September PC Meeting, with the Award going to the individual(s) with the most nominations.In the event of a tie, the Parish Council’s decision will be final. 
  7. Nomination Forms will be available from, and can be deposited in the nomination boxes at: the Village Shop, Church, Village Hall, Memorial Institute, Pub and School, OR may be sent to the Parish Clerk.
  8. Nomination forms will be included in the June/July issue of Granite Towers.A follow up reminder will be included in the August/September issue of Granite Towers.
  9. The honouree’s name with the year of the Award will be inscribed on the plaque hanging in the Memorial Institute.
  10. Any nominations not received by one of the above stated means or received after the closing deadline will not be counted. 
  11. Nomination boxes will remain sealed until opened at the meeting at which the Citizen of the Year is decided.
NB: You do not need to use a nomination form as long as you send an email or letter to the clerk with all the required information (Your Name & Address, Nominee's Name, Reason for nomination).
